PAGE 3 beauty Rhian Sugden has spoken out about her sex text exchanges with Vernon Kay - and insisted she is not a homewrecker

In 2010, the 25-year-old was at the centre of a scandal after married dad-of-two Vernon admitted he sent racy texts and Twitter messages to the pretty blonde after meeting her in a nightclub.

The duo were in daily contact for at least four months after they swapped numbers when he invited her to watch him DJ in their home town.

However, Rhian confessed she was left feeling “sick” when their texts were exposed in January 2010.

It then emerged Vernon, 38, had been having text sex affairs with four other women and he immediately issued a grovelling apology to his wife and kids. “I’ve been an idiot and I’ve let my family down,” he said.

Since then, the Bolton-born model has become something of a public hate figure and she’s keen to get away from the stigma.

“It’s been an absolute nightmare,” she told new! magazine this week.

Now the gorgeous blonde has headed into the Celebrity Big Brother House.

She confesses that if she does appear on the infamous reality show, she hopes to change the public’s perception of her as a “raging sex texting homewrecker”.

Here, the model, who’s currently single, clears up the rumours that she’s dating Cristiano Ronaldo and tells why she’s desperate to gain weight.

You’re rumoured to be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. If you were to go in, what would you hope to get out of the experience?

I’d like people to see me for me. People always presume I’m a certain kind of person and I’m actually quite a nice, normal person.

Would you worry about going in after what happened with Vernon Kay?

Not at all.

What actually happened between you two?

I don’t want to talk about that.

Would you talk about what happened if you went in?

There’s nothing to say. It’s been blown way out of proportion. I don’t want to be linked to it any more.

Would you hope to change the public’s perception of you?

Yeah. People already have this perception of me from what they’ve read in the press and I just want to prove I’m not that person.

I’m not this raging sex texting home wrecker. It would be nice to be known for something else.

It sounds like you’ve had a really tough time...

It’s been a nightmare. It just doesn’t go away. It’s insane.

Would you be fearful of being booed if you went in?

I expect I would be - so I’d be prepared for that.

Would you be open to finding romance in there?

I don’t think I’d have a TV romance. I think it’s cheesy. But you never know [laughs].

MC Harvey is rumoured to be going in. Is he your type?

He’s got bad press behind him too so I don’t want to judge him. He’s been a bit of a bad boy, but I like a cheeky bad boy, they keep you on your toes

Simon Cowell’s rumoured ex, Jasmine Lennard, is also hotly tipped to be going in. Do you know her at all?

[Pauses] Well... we’ve had a few tiffs on Facebook in the past.

Really? Is it true you both had flings with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo around the same time?

I didn’t have a fling with him, no, but we were speaking [to him] at the same time, which is why I got nasty messages off her.

Do you think things would be awkward between you?

Yes. Slightly awkward.

Would you confront her or would you just ignore what happened in the past?

I’d probably ignore it, as I’m not confrontational, but if someone’s having a go I can hold my own. I’d probably go and cry for a bit afterwards though

Are you still in touch with Ronaldo?

Occasionally.

Wow! You lucky thing!

No. It’s definitely not a lucky thing [laughs].

Ex-EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison is another name rumoured to be going into the house. Have you met her?

I did watch her on Celebrity Come Dine With Me and she seemed like a funny person.

Coleen Nolan and Julian Clary are two other potential celebrity housemates...

I’ve heard that Coleen has a bit of an issue with Page 3 girls. Saying that, I think all the Loose Women do so that would be interesting.

Julian wears good make-up - he could do mine.

Are you single at the moment?

Yes.

How long have you been on your own?

A few years.

Are you looking for a boyfriend?

Not at the minute - I like my own space.

Is it true you’re worried about an ex releasing a sex tape you made?

That’s 100 per cent not true. And if there is one, I’m definitely not in it.

Have you got a celebrity crush?

You’ll probably laugh but I have a crush on Darius Danesh, even though he’s married now. I’ve liked him for years.

What is it about him you like?

I don’t know. I’ve fancied him since his long-haired days.

Have you ever dated anyone famous?

I don’t think I have.

You’re in great shape. What’s your secret?

I’m just a really thin person and I eat whatever I want. I struggle to put on weight.

Are you happy with your body?

Well, ideally, I’d like to put on a bit more weight.

What do you eat on a typical day?

I have porridge and fruit for breakfast, a tuna sandwich for lunch and something like steak and potatoes for dinner. And I snack on fruit and nuts in between meals.

Have you ever been told to lose or gain weight for a job?

I’ve been told to gain weight.

Does it get you down?

Yeah. When people tell me I’ve lost so much weight it’s like me saying to a fat person, “You’ve put on so much weight.” - I get offended as I’m trying to gain weight.
