Lacey's emotional rollercoaster

Mum was the one who first said I should try Page 3 Idol. I didn’t think I could do it.

It was 2010, I was 18 and so surprised to win because the other girls were so pretty. When I heard, I was so shocked I cried.

It felt like a dream. Mum was screaming and saying: “I knew you could do it,” and my boyfriend Laurence picked me up and twirled me around.

Since then it’s been a real whirlwind. I’ve gone on overseas shoots and had the best time. Modelling for Page 3 has made me feel sexy and confident. I’ve never really felt like that before — I’ve never loved myself. Now I love my body.

But being in the paper certainly makes me watch it a lot more too. Over time it’s easier to see changes in your shape and it probably will change in a couple of years.

But at least when I’m really old I’ll be able to look back and say: “Yes, I was hot once!”
