I've been invited on many 'out of the ordinary' assignments during my time on Page 3, but I have to admit that after being asked to spend the day being driven around central London in a Ferrari I had to ask the question, "why?"
Now, I'm not one to pass up a rare opportunity and I'm glad I didn't, as it turns out that 'the point' of our little trip was to publicise the latest instalment of the Fast and Furious film series by cruising through London attracting as much attention as possible, which is obviously something I'm quite used to.
The cruise kicked off at the Ace Cafe in North London, where I met up with my chauffeur for the day, Ian Strachan. And as I strolled along the line of bright paintwork and shiny wheels, I suddenly came across a stunning black Ferrari F430, with Ian sitting inside grinning.

At first I thought it was his car, but he soon admitted that he had borrowed it from supercar hire firm Dream Car Hire. I didn't even know you could hire a car like this, but it certainly made an old man very happy.
The cruise took in some of the most well known London landmarks and we attracted attention wherever we went. Each time our collection of cars stopped a crowd would gather round and we even got a look off Gordon Brown as he sped past in a convoy of police cars.
Manoeuvring through the London traffic isn't good at the best of times, but when you're in a line of 20 snarling machines it's almost impossible. Never-the-less, we managed to keep together for much of the day, before running over to the O2 to check out the film itself.
