To celebrate Page 3's 38th birthday, all this week we're looking at the pivotal moments in the history of the nation's favourite page.
Today we revisit the 80s, where we learnt new words like yuppie, mobile phone, GMTV and, of course, Sam Fox, so here's another 10 top moments from topless history.
September 1982: Hello, hello, hello what have we here then? WPC Merlita Buckler becomes the first serving woman police constable on Page 3.
February 1983: A picture of a 16-year-old school leaver appears on Page 3 next to the headline "Sam, quits A-Levels for Ooh-Levels!" And the legend of Sam Fox is born.
October 1985: Princess Diana, on a royal visit, asks stunned Coventry factory workers - "What would you normally be doing now - having a cup of tea and reading Page 3?"
April 1986: A bid to ban Page 3 flops after MPs throw out Clare Short's Bill outlawing bare-breasted beauties from daily newspapers.
June 1986: Sam Fox quits Page 3 to concentrate on her musical career.
Sept 1986: Kathy Lloyd makes her debut.
December 1986: A new Page 3 Girl of the Year is crowned and the name Maria Whittaker is etched in Page 3 history for ever.
August 1987: Samantha Fox releases her first album Touch Me, which went gold after the release of her first single.
November 1987: Linda Lusardi is voted top Page 3 Girl of all time.
February 1988: Loony Liverpool Leftie Derek Hatton sparks outrage after branding Page 3 Girls "brainless bimbos."
